Provincial Nominee Program and Permanent Residency Info Session (Nov. 12, Wednesday, 2-4 pm)

If you are an international student and if you are interested in applying for permanent residency or applying through BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), this info session is for you! You will hear the government officers from BC PNP office, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), and Service Canada about the most updated government regulations and application procedures related to PNP, newly announced Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Labor Market Opinion (if you are interested in applying for a work permit as a foreign worker). You will learn some tips and insights about how to apply for PNP, CEC and LMO and permanent residency. Please visit the PNP website at http://www.ecdev.gov.bc.ca/ProgramsAndServices/PNP/index.htm and prepare some questions that you cannot find answers from the website before you attend the info session.

从本学期开始，UBC CSSA Dancing Club正式成立！我们将举办一系列舞会，并且请到专业老师教跳Waltz, Cha-Cha, Samba, Tango。除了教授舞蹈,Dance Club 同时会教授大家关于各种舞蹈的知识,比如其音乐及其历史.在接下来的时间里，还将应大家需要陆续开办Hip-Hop 及民族舞的课程，以舞会友，年轻的你绝不能错过！

A new school term starts; do you need anything exciting for this school term;do you want to socialize with other students; do you want to impress your friends? Here you go, there is an excellent opportunity: CSSA is offering a variety of dance classes from elegant European style dances (waltz, line dance, swing) to the hottest Latindances (rumba, cha-cha, salsa, meringue, samba).

Our club provides all the members a brilliant dance instructor, Oksana Latynina. She has taught social ballroom dancing at different levels in Vancouver for 20 years in many dance studios. And she went to many international dance competitions. You'll find Oksana very professional and full of energy. You will learn and enjoy every moment in her classes!Don't be hesitated to join our new dance club, you can learn a selection of different dances, meet more friends, and have fun!

作为中国54个国家级高新区中最早成立、规模最大的科技园区，中关村科技园区现已成为中国高科技自主创新的发源地，中国高科技创业和投资的热土。每天平均有2-3家留学人员企业诞生；每年新增销售收入过亿元企业一百多家；境外风险投资在中关村的投资占全国的一半……，中关村的高新技术在中国现代化的进程中发挥了重要作用。
由中关村驻多伦多联络处、UBC-CSSA共同主办的“中关村创业政策宣讲会”将介绍中关村科技园区发展的最新情况、园区管理机构对留学人员回国创业的支持政策、留学人员回国创业的成功案例、留学人员回国创业需要做的准备等等，并回答和探讨有关回国创业的相关问题。

FAQ for Celebration Boat Cruise

1. Boarding instructions:

• All Student Guests need to display 1 piece of picture ID indicating the date of birth.
• Please note:
a) No food or drink is allowed to bring onto the boat.
b) For safety purpose, no children under 17 are allowed on the boat.

2. Where and when does the Boat Cruise take place?
It will take place on September 27th, a Saturday night. Boarding starts @ 6:30pm, 3 hours traveling time from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The location is at the No.1 North Foot of Denman Street (Denman Street and West Georgia, nearby the Stanley Park entrance).

3. How can we get there? Is parking lot available?
Google location: Harbour Cruises Marina-#1 North Foot of Denman Street
For bus takers, you can check the Translink Website for bus time and route.
Parking is available (see attachment) for $8 flat rate.

4. What’s the dress code?
Formal dressing is required. For men, dress pants and shirts are mandatory. For women, evening dress is preferred.

5. How big is the boat?
The maximum capacity of the boat is around 250 -300 People. The boat has two floors and a deck on top of the second

"The AMS is looking for volunteers to distribute the 2008-2009 AMS Insider, the latest release of the annual student handbook, planner, and guide from September 2nd to 5th; during 9am to 5pm.
